In a day and age when good sitcoms are hard to come by, I am somewhat saddened by the news of the upcoming departure of what had become one of my favorite sitcom characters since the golden days of Seinfeld. So long Michael Scott and Thanks for all the obliviousness.
I hope Steve Carell is able to mold another character as brilliant as Michael when the dust has settled on his run with The Office.

The Riverdales Tarantula hits Amazon.com and Emusic today. No word yet on the CD and/or LP versions, but hopefully we will see them by July. UPDATED – they are now available through Recess Records, Interpunk.com and other fine music merchants.
With this being the first time the Riverdales have recorded an album with two guitars, it is sure to rock. Time to download!
There are many cases to be made for which city, state, nation and even continent is the best (except for Antarctica, damn you and your melty ice land of cold), but I think it’s pretty safe to say that Planet Earth is the best planet commonly known – ironically on Planet Earth. No alien spaceship rides touring the universe to date have given me any reason to think otherwise. So let’s give it up for Planet Earth – yummy air and water to sustain life (Ok, so maybe ice isn’t so bad) – Hooray Earth!

Hot Tub Time Machine is well deservedly getting my eight dollars this weekend. The title alone is worth every penny regardless of actual entertainment value.
UPDATE: I saw it and it was terribly awesome! With my low expectations it did not disappoint (kind of like the People of Wal-Mart blog). I highly recommend it as a rental or a “we got nothing better to do this weekend afternoon” matinée.
